WELCOME NOTE FROM MUFTI MENK
Friday 26 Shaban 1434
5 July 2013
Alhamdulillah, it brings great joy and happiness to see the effort of our great friend and elder brother Dr Hassan Ashmawy bear fruit by launching his website, after decades of sacrifice within the less privileged communities of our country.
Dr Hassan Ashmawy who is based in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, although a medical doctor by profession has spent much time and his own resources conveying aspects of Islamic History beginning with the “Seerah” or Blessed Life Story of Muhammad peace be upon Him.
The fact that this effort is available and in demand in an audio version (CD form) and now he has made it available also on his website by the Grace of Allah Almighty, is a sign of acceptance in-sha Allah.
I pray that Allah Almighty preserve our brother and the good work he has dedicatedly achieved and I am sure we will all benefit immensely from his work. May this effort continue! Aameen

The Seerah (life story) of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him)
Seerah comes from the Arabic word ‘Sayr’ which means to walk. Hence, ‘Seerah’ is the way someone walks, in essence, the way they live their life; their biography. Seeratun-Nabi means the biography of Nabi Muhammad. Seeratus-Sahaabah means the biography of the companions of Nabi Muhammad .
There has never been a human being so well-respected, loved and followed as Muhammad Ibn Abdullah, the final messenger of Allah. There has never been a person who has changed world history so dramatically as Muhammad and his message. The prophetwas the single most important person in the history of the world.
The reason for Muhammad’s success was that he was sent with a pure message from Allah, the creator of all mankind. This message would help us to understand how to live our lives. It would tell us about good and bad, about right and wrong.
The Sahaabah, the companions of the prophet Muhammad, worked hard to practise the ideals of Islam and teach it to the people. Through the efforts of the Sahaabah and the early Muslims, we are Muslims today.
In the Seerah discussions we have tried to present a glimpse, or rather an introduction to “wet your appetite” into the amazing lives of these great personalities.
The Prophet Muhammad was kind and honest. He looked after his family and friends. He had good character and respected the elders. He looked after the orphans and the poor. He was concerned for the well-being of all people. He never stole or swore at anyone. He was loved and respected by everyone – the Muslims and the non-muslims.
Many people try and follow the example of the prophet and his noble companions, indeed they are all role models for all.
